Early life
Sukirti was born on November 20, 1987 in Nainital, Uttarakhand, India. She is born to Mr & Mrs B D Kandpal. She has an elder sister Bhavna and a brother, Manjul Kandpal. Sukirti Kandpal initially wanted to pursue her career in law as she is born to a public prosecutor. She worked in an international BPO before she joined the Television industry.
Career
She has played the protagonist Dr. Riddhima Gupta in Dill Mill Gayye for which she gained fame, but soon she was replaced by Jennifer Winget. She then did a role of an antagonist in Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo. She also have done roles in Jersey No. 10 and Ssshhhh...Phir Koi Hai. Her most popular role is in Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani where she portrays Pia Dobriyal, the main protagonist. She has also done a cameo in movie Love Sex Aur Dhoka. Sukirti Kandpal was into modelling before beginning her career as a Television actress. The lead actress of the Television serial Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani, the gorgeous Sukirti Kandpal represented India at the Miss India World Wide, 2011 pageant in Dubai. Sukirti Kandpal won the title Bollywood Diva and was also one of the top 10 contestants .
After a brief stint in the show Ssshhhh...Phir Koi Hai, Sukirti was noticed. She shot to fame as an actress through a sports based youthful TV series called Jersey No. 10 where she essayed the character of a tennis player called ‘Saakshi’.
Entering the show Dill Mill Gayye as the second ‘Dr.Riddhima’ replacing Shilpa Anand, Sukirti scaled new heights with this show. Although its usually difficult to replace a much loved character in a popular soap, Sukirti Kandpal took no time at all in making the viewers like her. As her Co-star Karan Singh Grover rightly stated: ‘Sukirti is surpassing all expectations’. After Dill Mill Gayye, Sukirti Kandpal bagged the role of the leading lady opposite Vivian Dsena in a new show called ‘Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani’ where she plays ‘Piya’. This show is supposed to be an adaptation of the Twilight series and has gained Sukirti a huge fan base. Sukirti Kandpal with her co-star Vivian Dsena clapped and cheered for the Indian cricket team at the Feroze Shah Kotla Ground in New Delhi. The onscreen couple had a terrific time watching team India trounce Netherlands in ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.
